Nice Weather If Your a Duck


We had our second unschedualed day off school in a month today due to wet weather and flooding.

All anybody seemed to feel like doing today in our house was hybinating.

I did managed to go out with camera wrapped up in a plastic bag and lens just poking through to get some shots of the water around the neighbourhood.




Local Civil Defence where worried about the Kahutara River which is just a mile down the road from where we live. It broke its banks just upstream of the mouth and swept away a lot of Manuka bush and good farmland. There is a railway embankment between the breach and where we are so we where reasonably safe.



TV 3 news, one of our National TV channels did some filming earlier in the day and a live broadcast from our neighbourhood this eveing.



There has been a lull in the rain for a while but sounds like it has just started up again.




Still can't scroll over to see what the Mood icons are so can't choose a new one.

I can't put in a direct link to my gallery there sorry. DeviantART seems to put an emoticon right in the middle of the url which renders it useless.

I do come in just haven't done a journal for a while I guess. Spend most of my time on Facebook these days as you will be well aware. Tend to like to keep it real these days and only keep in touch with those that I actually have had the chance to hug in real life, with the exception of I think 3 all my facebook mates I have meet.
